Class 37 Gen List

Welcome to the class 37 gen list web page. The aim of the list is to share gen on the class 37 locomotives owned and operated by English Welsh & Scottish Railways, DRS and members of the class which are preserved. Below are guidelines of the list together with examples of good and bad gen. Please subscribe and post to the list but please do not abuse the list. If you do break the rules you are likely to be suspended or in extreme cases banned from the list. Anyway please join and I hope we can all share some useful gen on what has been BR's best diesel locomotive!

This list is not intended to replace any of the other mailing lists out there, merely to complement them especially in areas they do not cover.

Subscribing:

There are two easy ways to subscribe the first is to visit the web page at:

http://www.egroups.com/list/class37/info.html

or to send a blank email to:

class37-subscribe@egroups.com

If you have any trouble subscribing to the list then contact myself at class37-owner@egroups.com and I will automatically subscribe you.

Normal and Digest Subscription:

The normal version allows you to receive emails as soon as someone sends them to the list. Egroups is very efficient at passing messages on with usually less than a minute from sending the message to receiving it. Much less time than some other lists! The digest version allows you to receive all the emails sent to the list in a digest once a day.

To switch to the normal version send a blank email to:

class37-normal@egroups.com

To switch to the digest version send a blank email to:

class37-digest@egroups.com

Unsubscribing:

If you ever wish to un-subscribe from the list then please send a blank email to:

class37-unsubscribe@egroups.com

Please contact me at class37-owner@egroups.com with your reason for un-subscribing to enable me to improve the list further if you are unhappy. Any feedback is also welcome.

Advice on posting messages:

Here is some advice on posting messages that will hopefully provide useful and enable everyone to get the gen.

1,

First and foremost obey by the rules and regulations,

2,

Keep messages short and sweet, make sure the gen is at the top of the message to make sure mobile phone subscribers get all the gen.

3,

Please time and date stamp all the gen as sometimes email servers switch to go slow and it can be literally days for emails to arrive!

Subscribing mobile phones to the list:

The best free service available on all networks for receiving emails is the Genie service. Originally for BT Cellnet users it has recently been extended to all networks. For more information visit http://www.genie.co.uk.

To subscribe mobile phone's to the list and you have the ability of sending emails from your phone as well as receiving them then please visit the Egroups web site at http://www.egroups.com and register your mobile phone with Egroups. Don't worry about registering your phone you will not get sent any other messages other than those from the class 37 mailing list. Once registered go to http://www.egroups.com/list/class37/info.html and subscribe to the list from there. You will need to reply to a confirmation email sent to you by Egroups as a security measure. If you do not have the ability to reply to the email from your phone then please contact myself and I will manually subscribe you.

For information on subscribing mobile phones to mailing lists please visit the excellent
Mobile Rail Gen Reference Site
