Update

First - an apology for a lack of updates over the past few months, this has been solely my fault and caused by increased work commitments severely restraining my spare time to keep this website updated.

Future updates will occur on an 'as required' basis, occurring when I have time and energy available and when major news happens. It may well be that there are several updates some weeks and then nothing for a month or two but please do not be alarmed I am still out there (just exceptionally busy!).

It has been suggested that the news pages of this website will concentrate on news from the project with a brief update on 37/4 happenings on the mainline. Comments as usual to chairman@class37project.co.uk

Class 37/4 Project News

The project is still alive and well and with the prospect of 37/4's remaining with EWS for the foreseeable future (for how long who knows???) we at the project are currently evaluating our next step. We hope to announce a major change in the next few months if all goes well which will see the project concentrating on its core task of raising funds for the eventual purchase of at least one 37/4.

The project's first AGM still needs to be convened and it is hoped that this can be arranged to coincide with the major news hinted at above. This should be concluded by the end of the year.

Class 37/4 News:

Well in brief:

  • A return of loco haulage to Fishguard, Radyr and Aberystwyth!
  • Extra diagrams on the Cardiff-Rhymney line together with all day Saturday working!
  • 37422 returned from store and undergoing overhaul
  • More 37/4's to be overhauled? A certain magazine quotes two more?
  • 37412 on decision after a shunting accident at Cardiff Canton TMD.

More news will follow shortly (and I promise it will be days not months!).
