Aims & Objectives


The aim of the Class 37/4 Project is:

    "to purchase, restore and maintain to working condition one (or more) members of the Class 37/4 ETH fitted sub-class for the enjoyment of enthusiasts and members of the public alike for future years to come."

Objectives:

1.    Purchase at least one member of the Class 37/4 sub-class from their current owner, EWS.

2.    Restore and maintain the locomotive to a high standard ensuring its continued survival for many years to come.

3.    To establish and equip a suitable operating base on a preserved railway

4.    Establish a spares pool to ensure the locomotive can be repaired and maintained for every eventuality.

5.    Ensure suitable access to the locomotive by members of the public and enthusiasts alike through operating days, attending events and allowing supervised visits.

6.    Encourage enthusiasts to take an active role in fundraising, management of the project and maintenance and operation of the locomotive.

7.    The 'Class 37/4 Project' is to be a non-profit making organisation with all money raised going towards the ultimate aim of the project.
